Sunday 11th September – bike ***** – Around Felixstowe including lunch with ‘Emily’ – sunny and warm:).

What a lovely Sunday, a touch sad but lovely too, we started watching the Queen leave Balmoral, Mag had a few tears as it reminded, he of her dear old Mum:( Had a nice morning at home, I managed to do my exercises in the warm sunshine in the garden before packing a picnic and heading out on our bikes, perfect cycling conditions too, light winds with warm sun vey quiet too, just how we like it:) We thought we would have our lunch with ‘Emily’ at our favourite Falkenham Church. Down past the Grove to Marsh Lane, a quick look at the River Deben where the tide was really high before continuing up past Kings Fleet to the church where another family were enjoying the view but our bench was still free:) We enjoyed a wonderful picnic with stunning views down to the Deben where yachts were slowly sailing past with squirrels in the trees, we heard buzzards and woodpeckers before carrying on the usual route back on bridle ways and footpaths not seeing a soul! Back to Felixstowe along the tree lined way with views down to the River Orwell. Back home at 2.45 leaving us enough time to change and walk down to the seafront at the end of our road for the Proclamation for Charles III at Felixstowe Town Hall. The weather was perfect for the ceremony with a good crowd gathered too. We managed to sit right at the front in front of the town hall steps where the microphone was set up. We watched Suffolk’s great and good troop out as the mayor addressed the crowd and verry moving it was too, the highlight for me was Mag’s singing of God Save the King with top three cheers:) Then back home for a visit from our son Dan with Jay fresh from getting some lovely baby clothes for the new Granddaughter due to arrive in January – top day all round :)
